MEDIA WALL ENTRY POINT

Role: UX & Design
Brand: Nestlé Purina, Retail Innovation Headquarters
Objective: Design and develop a digital message board and media display to engage clients of Purina’s Retail division.

As the sole creative on my team, I partnered with a developer to ideate, plan and execute the user experience and visual design of this completely unique and eye-catching media display. Standing tall, the media wall is the first thing guests of the Retail Innovation Center see once they enter the space, so supplying relevant information and a beautiful visual was a critical requirement for making the most of their visit.

Tired of the expected experience - a screen outfitted with tiny square boxes, headers and footers communicating disparate informations, images and text too small to read - I set out to design a captivating media wall that delivers a plethora of details in a digestible format. Tapping into the the sense of awe a endless moving screensaver can illicit, I wanted to integrate animation as a way to capture attention. Playing a supporting role via data-assigned brand colors, the background animation in conjunction with the subtle motion of all data triggers on screen and a countdown timer illustrated by a rotating circle around each source icon, the main display offers up a single piece of industry content, either pulled from social media or supplied internally. The separate rotation of content on the left side of the wall provides more information on guest’s time in the RIC, who they’ll be meeting with, what’s outlined in the day’s agenda and data points to discuss in engagements throughout the day. This matching game takes users through product information and company history as they earn points and uncover the latest Honey Bunches of Oats product—Breakfast Biscuits.


Presentation Touch Wall

Role: UX Assistant, Design
Brand: Nestle Purina, Retail Innovation Headquarters

This video takes you through a demonstration of the functionality and interactive nature of a four screen interactive touch wall. The screens serve as a central area for small group presentations and a competitive game which educates and entertains visitors of the Retail Innovation Center. I collaborated intensely over a series of cross-team workshops, tried out my design on a true-to-life sized white board and tested interactions in person with the pre-existing touch screens.
